Simulation & Modelling
Computational fluid dynamics, digital twin analysis, and finite element analysis for offshore and deep-sea systems.
DRT offers advanced computational modelling and simulation services that give clients unprecedented insight into system behavior before hardware is built or deployed. Our capabilities span computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), multibody dynamics, and full digital twin development for complex offshore and deep-sea systems.
Our computational modelling practice applies high-fidelity physics-based methods to predict the performance of offshore structures, subsea equipment, and dynamic systems under real operating conditions. We model fluid-structure interaction, sediment transport, riser and mooring dynamics, and equipment response to wave, current, and seabed loading — enabling clients to validate designs with confidence before committing to fabrication.
Our digital twin work — including the Deep-Sea Mining Digital Twin developed for a major mining system — integrates multiple physics domains to model real-time performance, predict failure modes, and optimize operational parameters. These tools enable clients to reduce risk, lower costs, and improve operational outcomes across the full project lifecycle.
DRT's simulation and modelling services are applied from early concept screening through detailed design verification and operational support. Our engineers are experienced with industry-standard tools and have developed proprietary methods for novel offshore applications where no established precedent exists.
